Sara Beames has always loved working with her hands. While working on her BA in Art History, she was exposed to designing architectural stained glass, and since then, glass has been her love and her avocation. Each piece by Sara Beames is cut and then fired in a kiln at 1,400F. At this temperature, the pieces of glass literally fuse, the edges round, and the surfaces take on a brilliant gloss. The art of fusing glass dates back 4,000 years to the Middle East.
